The workshop “New Challenges in Merger Control in Europe” will be held at the premises of the Office of Competition and Consumer Protection in Warsaw on 12 September 2013.

The Workshop will be devoted to recent developments in the field of merger control and will consist of two roundtables. Given that the European Commission has launched a consultation on possible improvements of the EU Merger Regulation, during the first roundtable the participants will be invited to discuss this proposal. More particularly, the focus of the discussion will be on the possibility to include minority shareholdings in the scope of the EU Regulation and on the amendment of the system of case referrals between the Commission and the national competition authorities. The second roundtable, on the other hand, will address the key factors, which affect the choice and design of remedies in merger control proceedings.
