Updates: Norway
The Bergen Centre for Competition Law and Economics (BECCLE), jointly owned by Norwegian School of Economics and the University of Bergen, opened on September 9. The Norwegian Competition Authority helped to promote the idea of such a center and has been involved in its planning.
New Director General – Norway
Christine Benedichte Meyer took over as the head of the Norwegian Competition Authority on 1 April 2011.
Annual Report – Norway
The Norwegian Competition Authority has posted its 2010 Annual Report online, headlined by results in detecting cartels and including a section on the importance of international cooperation.
Online ‘Exclusive’
The Norwegian Competition Authority recently published its 2009 Annual Report, titled “Competition Policy Works!”, available here. Of note, for the first time, this report is published exclusively as an online version. In the Authority’s words: “[t]his is both environmentally sound and cost saving. At the same time, the publication is searchable and easy-to-follow.”
